We will get dates wrong, misname a face, and occasionally hold something whose rights belong to someone who never agreed. None of that is acceptable to leave standing — but it is only fixable if you can reach a person. You can.

Factual errorA wrong date, place, maker, or caption.

MisidentificationA named person who is not who we say — or who would rather not be named at all.

Rights claimYou hold rights to a work we have listed, or you are its subject.

Takedown requestSensitive, harmful, or wrongly-public material.

Rights and takedown requests are triaged first. The other two are worked in order.

Submit a correction

A person replies · not a ticket number

Give us enough to find the record and understand the problem. If you are not sure of the catalog number, the record URL is enough.

Verifiable fixes are made and logged. If we cannot act, we tell you why rather than going quiet.

Step three

The change is visible

Corrections are recorded, not silently swapped. Withdrawals leave a tombstone, so a cited link never just vanishes.
